11 likes. The first 250-300 pages of Boy's Life are simply wonderful, with McCammon creating a lovingly described town (Zephyr) inhabitted by "real" characters. I don't know why it took me so many years to decide to read it. Find all the books, read about the author, and more. But it is so much more. The story up until then was like a flowy and meandering climb, but the end is just a short, straight line back down.

Although the author wrote this over twenty years ago, it is only in recent months that I've been made aware of it's existence. Ahhh. A couple whose dream home attracts unsettling guests. See, this is my opinion: we all start out knowing magic. This book has gone on to my bookshelf and there it will stay, I will not part with it again. Although it started out a little shaky for me, I eventually understood that I was to read this book as if I was being told the story of someone's life.
