Pay for itself? More or less hp/torque then Malone’s? But dont get me wrong im not complaining about 40mpg at 80 lol. For a while everything seemed good.then my mpg started to drop and then I got cel for things that should have been deleted. Of course I’m attracted to the car that has upgrades cause I prolly want to do them myself, not to mention the spirited driving that was done after doesn’t have a positive impact on the cars performance or reliability but for sure as soon as you sign the dotted line the value isn’t going up and there is no paying for itself in fuel savings with these turds in today’s terms. So quick update. Before the tune I averaged 32-34 mpg but now I'm seeing about 25mpg.
The instructions and the videos didn't work well for my car. I know it is BS but I can't really argue with the dealer because the tune is there. Unfortunately still dealing with this. Better fuel economy and better power. So much fun to push the skinny pedal down at 75 and kick up to 90 without a delay.
He was seeing 25 MPG on short trip driving in the winter. Love it but I'm noticing a significant decrease in city MPG. With the Malone tune the power stays on consistently without any noticeable drop off until past 4500rpm and im sure that this is due to the removal of the restrictive exhaust. Regens were more frequent. The customer service was absolutely excellent! It may be the nature of the beast. of Torque! A few MPG isn't worth losing your warranty over. I use the term turd lightly as I like my turd. My MKIV with nearly 380,000 miles was averaging 48-50. If you keep your foot out of it I would imagine you will see a considerable increase, that might take 2-3 years to pay for itself. I noticed when I went stage 1.5 that I could achieve higher Mpgs, but it was subject to stop quicker with just one or two medium to hard pulls. First, a big thanks to the AARodriguez team. Big, big gains 3k-4k RPM. For accurate mileage only do hand calculations. They come with an insane warranty because diesel engines are not meant to have a DPF and EGR on them. I don't feel like dealing with the hassle of going back to stock and having to drive all over the place, take it back in, etc. My ALH on stage 1 went from 49mpg to 54mpg.
Malone also reported that it took longer to reach their 1,500-degree peak EGT … I recently purchased a post dieselgate '11 Jetta sedan as an upgrade from an '02 Jetta with an ALH. It feels the same way as the APR felt when i went from stock to APR... except now it was from APR to MALONE.
I don't think it is normal, stage 2 with out delete maybe causing more regen cycles and starting to plug up the exhaust. Did you stage 1 your ALH? Kinda want to give them a hard time about it but I do understand it isn't their fault and it does require labor on their part.
