And in the hustle/bustle of getting the event set up, they almost knocked over a customer trying to leave the restaurant.I do not fault this privately owned restaurant for pursuing good business opportunities and serving catering events, they just could not pull that off and take care of their normal customers this day.I like this restaurant and its owners, but I do not like competing with a large party.

This is the best Mofongo in Birmingham!
Yum doesn’t even cover it. We did notice that they were starting to set up warming trays and close half of the restaurant for a large party, even though the lunch rush was not finished yet. This review is the subjective opinion of a TripAdvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.

I will be back. On Monday they had a sign in the window saying 'closed', and on Tuesday they hosted a large group which disrupted their normal flow of serving customers.The food is usually great here.
Truly a hidden Gem. But lately the service has been slipping, including long waits to order, especially when the co-owner is busy and cannot take over the cash register.Tuesday was the worse. The table was dirty. I always get one of their Cuban/Fusion specialities, and their tres-leche cake is outstanding.
